Our Mission
Winthrop High School is dedicated to each member of its student body the opportunity to achieve academic excellence in a safe environment. We believe that all students possess the capacity to learn; and that each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs. We actively engage our students in developing their critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. By encouraging our students to become confident, self-directed life-long learners, we seek to connect their personal growth to academic excellence. We seek to foster a climate of shared responsibility among students, faculty, administration, parents, and the community-at-large..

Image result for christmas gift clipartWinthrop High School is participating, once again, in Project Bethlehem. This initiative provides the holiday experience for less fortunate families.  Period 4 classes who agreed to join the project will receive the names of multiple families in need of necessary items like clothes, shoes, and toys. All items must be new, and students are expected to wrap the items they wish to donate. Donations of wrapping paper, gift tags, scotch tape, and trash bags would also be very helpful; and financial donations will allow seniors to go shopping to fill any gaps. Please email Seńor Nickerson at mnickerson@winthrop.k12.ma.us if you have any questions.
